“I have been taking lessons with Mrs. Robin since I started playing the flute at age 7. She had me start out on a curved headjoint flute since my arms were too short to reach all of the keys on a regular flute. She is a wonderful, talented flute teacher who always has good tips and tricks to help me play. Mrs. Robin has helped me improve my flute skills a lot over the last 6 years. In 6th grade I placed 3rd chair in the All County Band, and in 7th grade I placed 2nd chair. Now I am in 8th grade and I play in the McDaniel College band. I will be auditioning for All State Junior Band and I have a goal to make 1st chair in All County this year. I also started taking piccolo lessons with Mrs. Robin last year and have been able to play piccolo in my school band. Mrs. Robin has helped to make all of this possible and helps me to perfect my audition pieces and music for the bands. Mrs. Robin is a fun-loving, amazing teacher, and I would recommend her to any aspiring flutist of any age or level.”

“I have been going to Mrs. Robin for a little over a year now. She has helped me prepare for two All County Band auditions and I added 56 points to my score from just one year of practice and lessons with Mrs. Robin. And without the help, strategies, and lots of support from Mrs. Robin, I would not have been able to make an improvement nearly as big.”

“Our daughter has taken flute lessons with Robin for several years and I can’t recommend her highly enough. Robin is an incredible teacher and such a talented musician. She’s professional and motivating but also funny and kind. This helps her students feel comfortable but also pushes them to higher levels. Robin has been and continues to be a great support for our flute player, from her beginning years in elementary school to now, with high school pieces and auditions. Highly recommend!!”

“If your student is looking to learn and grow playing the flute, we highly recommend Robin Harrison Flute Studio! The 1-on-1 attention and instruction is “instrumental” in our daughter’s love of music, as well as her success in playing. We are beyond pleased with Robin and would strongly recommend her instruction to any family looking to help their child develop as a flutist.”

“Mrs. Harrison is a gentle flute teacher. She helped me to break down songs so I can play them better. The classes are 30 minutes long, and in such little time I have learned so much from Mrs. Harrison.”

“My daughter loves taking classes. She started as a complete beginner at age 8 and has progressed beautifully in just under a year. Robin is very patient and encouraging.”

“I have been studying and learning to play the flute under the steady and wise instruction of Robin Harrison for at least six months. In that time, I have found her to be a consistently patient instructor. Specifically, she has very skilled music listening skills- skilled in tone quality and a very strong sense of timing. As part of the lessons she provides true musical instruction to clearly understand the theory and mechanics behind each piece. That way the student knows the “why” behind what they are doing. We have worked on tone and rhythm, and so on. I have found her to be encouraging and very patient. The really neat thing is that I have noticed improvement in my own playing. Music instruction is a systemic experience- with much practice and Robin the expert and attuned instructor, success is inevitable.”
